W 1771 roku Francesco Albergati Capacelli, boloński agent króla Stanisława Augusta, dostał zadanie zamówienia kopii modeli anatomicznych i ilustracji anatoma Ercole Lellego. Wiązało się ono z planem wyposażenia akademii sztuk pięknych, a jego inicjatorem był Marcello Bacciarelli.

Zmarły kilka lat wcześniej Lelli był znany jako rzeźbiarz tworzący świetne modele anatomiczne, które pomagały w nauczaniu artystów.

Podczas przygotowywania figur Albergati zmienił pierwotne zamówienie. Do teczki z rysunkami Lellego dodał zbiór różnych rysunków anatomicznych dawnych mistrzów i tak powstał jeden elegancki album. Na jego początku umieszczono kartę tytułową z ozdobnym kartuszem. Rysunek na karcie wykonał malarz i rytownik Carlo Bianconi. Album i modele anatomiczne miały uzupełniać kolekcję gipsów i zwiększać zasób narzędzi do nauki młodych artystów, podobnie jak na akademiach w Rzymie i Dreźnie. Prezentowany z albumem model anatomiczny z XX wieku nawiązuje do tej tradycji. Pokazuje, że sposób nauczania wprowadzony za Stanisława Augusta nie zmienił się do dziś.

In 1771, Francesco Albergati Capacelli, an agent of King Stanisław August in Bologna, was tasked with ordering copies of anatomical models and illustrations by anatomist Ercole Lelli. It was connected with a plan to equip the academy of fine arts, and its initiator was Marcello Bacciarelli.

Lelli, who had died a few years earlier, was known as a sculptor who created excellent anatomical models that helped in teaching artists.

While preparing the figures, Albergati changed the original order. He added a collection of various anatomical drawings by old masters to Lelli’s portfolio, and thus an elegant album was created. At the beginning, there is a title page with a decorative cartouche. The drawing was made by painter and engraver Carlo Bianconi. The album and anatomical models were intended to supplement the collection of plaster casts and increase the range of tools available to young artists, as was the case at academies in Rome and Dresden. The anatomical model from the 20th century presented in the album refers to this tradition. It shows that the teaching methods introduced under Stanisław August have remained unchanged to this day.
